When it comes to decorating your baby’s nursery, it doesn’t have to be a challenge, even if you don’t know the gender of your baby.

If you have a favorite theme, character, fabric or even furniture, each can be used as a starting point for your nursery design.

Keeping it simple is best, you can choose your colors and theme ahead of time, there are alot of “neutral” colors that are fun and that will make a beautiful nursery such as sage, cream, yellow and even red! Chances are you had a favorite character or nursery rhyme as a child, this is an excellent way to add a piece of your childhood to your baby’s nursery.

For your nursery furniture, some gender neutral finishes include natural, cherry and white.

Some popular fabrics are toile, chenille, velvets, paisley, ginghams and plaids, which all work well for a boy or girl and can be used mixed together when selecting crib bedding or furniture upholstery.

Once you bring your new baby home, you can then personalize your nursery with gender specific accessories.

The main thing is to create a nursery that will be comfortable for you, and safe and cozy for your baby.
